SEARCHING FOR FEATURE FILMS USING THE BROWARD COUNTY LIBRARY ONLINE CATALOG

To search for feature films on videocassette and DVD:

Select “ Catalog ” from the list of links on the left side of the BCL home page at www.broward.org/library. In the blank search box, type, “feature films videorecording” and press the onscreen “Search” button. The search should yield several thousand entries to search through. Click on the option for “_______ Keyword Matches”.

To search for feature films only on videocassette:

Select “ Catalog ” from the library home page. In the blank search box, type, “feature films videocassette” and press the onscreen “Search” button.

Click on the option for “_______ Keyword Matches”.

To search for feature films only on DVD:

Select “ Catalog ” from the library home page. In the blank search box, type, “feature films DVD” and press the onscreen “search” button.

Click on the option for “_______ Keyword Matches”.

To display a list of videos and DVDs beginning with a particular letter:

Select “ Catalog ” from the library home page. Type in either “DVD A” (for DVDs beginning with A) or “Video A” (for videos beginning with A). Then select “Call Number Browse” from the “Select a search type – (optional)” drop-down menu located below the space for typing in keywords. Finally, press the onscreen “search” button.

To display an alphabetical list of feature film DVDs released in the current year:

Select “ Catalog ” from the library home page. At the next screen, select link for “ Advanced Search Option ” on left side of page. In the Keywords search box, type, “feature films DVD.” Scroll down to the “Limit by Date” option. Type “2004” in the box next to the “Year is later than” box (to bring up a list of DVDs released in 2005). Click the “search” button. This should bring up a list of 100+ titles. To alphabetize the list by title, click on the option “ Title ” under the “ Sort results by: ” option on the left side of the screen (the sort option is available for results of up to 300 items).

**Click on a specific title in a list to access information such as location and circulation status.  To place a hold on currently unavailable titles or those at other branches, press the onscreen “Place hold(s)” button and then follow the onscreen instructions.**
