Print Sources

The Business, Law, and Government (BLG) Services Section, located on the fifth floor of the Broward County Main Library, has a collection of reference materials providing grant information from both governmental and commercial sources. This information includes "how to" publications on the writing of grant proposals as well as directories of funding sources. Directories include public and private foundations and charities, corporate giving programs, and special-interest organizations that provide funding.  Among the BLG Section's holdings are the Foundation Directory, Annual Register of Grant Support, Grants Register, and Corporate Giving Directory. Circulating books on grants and grant-writing are located on the fourth floor of the Broward County Main Library.

Note:  Directories of funding sources for grants and books on how to write grant proposals are available at many branches of the Broward County Library. While the call numbers of the directories vary, the books on writing grant proposals are generally classified in the 658.15224 Dewey Decimal area of the library. Call your local branch library for additional information.

In addition, the Alvin Sherman Library at Nova Southeastern University has an extensive Foundations and Grants Collection and can provide a wide range of services to help those preparing grants and soliciting funds.  For more information, click http://www.nova.edu/library/about/collection/foundations.html.
