Literary Feast February 24 – 25, 2006

Come and meet your favorite author at one of South Florida's premier literary events, Literary Feast 2006! Comprising three distinct events, Literary Feast 2006 offers a unique mix of literary, social and educational components. All proceeds benefit the Broward Public Library Foundation in its efforts to provide books and services not otherwise available to the Broward County Library system, and the Sun-Sentinel/WB39 Children's Fund's programs for low-income children and families with special needs. Literary Feast is coordinated by Byblos, the special events committee of the Broward Public Library Foundation.

NOVEL DAY FOR STUDENTS

More than 3,500 students in Broward County have an opportunity to meet an author as they discuss the roads they have traveled and the challenges they have faced as writers. As an integral part of the program, a short story writing contest with cash prizes is held in each high school.

NIGHT OF LITERARY FEASTS

This extraordinary event kicks off with a cocktail reception at the Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale, where guests can purchase the authors' latest books, meet the authors and have their books signed while enjoying music and cocktails, and participating in a silent literary-themed auction. From the Library, authors and guests proceed to private homes and elegant restaurants for dinner. Each author is a literary guest of honor allowing the attendees an "up close and personal" opportunity to learn more about them.
