Dates in History
April is National Poetry Month – spring into action and discover a new poem or reread an old favorite. Keep that literary momentum rolling all month with International Children’s Book Day (April 2), and National Library Week (April 15–21) – a great time to take your children to your local library.

Have a laugh on company time during National Fun at Work Day (April 5), then head to the kitchen for Egg Salad Week (April 9–15), the perfect time to recycle all those Easter eggs.
Who me? Not you, at least not on Blame Someone Else Day (April 13), held annually on the first Friday the 13th of the year; atone for your bad attitude during National Volunteer Week (April 15-21).
The good works continue on Earth Day (April 22) – this year’s theme is “New Energy for a New Era.” Finally, end the month with some family fun on Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on April 26.
