Start of the World Wide Web
On August 1, 1990, a new concept of a world wide web was suggested at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics in Switzerland. By October 1990, an initial draft of the first web browser was completed. Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and a Universal Resource Locator (URL) were also introduced. The first graphical browser was released in 1993. In just over a decade, websites have become a universal platform to share information and connect society.
