What happens every day at a Broward County Library?
During 2008, the 37 locations of Broward County Library were opened 357 days. A lot can happen in a day, and during that time, our libraries circulated materials, answered reference questions, and offered services and programs to thousands of people. Libraries are truly the heart of the community, working each day to improve the quality of life for each and every citizen of our community.

On an average day last year…

  • 29,183 people entered a Broward County Library
  • 28,329 library items were checked out
  • 1,937 people attended a library program
  • 8,856 people signed up to use a library Internet computer
  • 8,989 reference questions were answered
  • 334 volunteer hours were contributed
  • 26,640 people visited the library electronically via a remote computer.
