Dates in History

Round ‘em up and bring ‘em in – the first week of March is Return the Borrowed Books Week. Whether they’re from your local library or your best bibliophile friend, now’s the time to do the right thing.

Get in touch with your roots March 10, Genealogy Day, the perfect time to track your ancestors (easy to do on one of BCL’s free genealogy databases).

Lie down and be counted (but not caught) on National Workplace Napping Day on March 12, the first workday after Daylight Savings Time and an excellent time to catch some zzz’s.

Wake up on the 16th – it’s Freedom of Information Day, a time when the American Library Association celebrates the public’s right to know and educating them about the importance of promoting and protecting freedom of information.

Go green on March 17th in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

Finish up the month any way you want, because March 26 is officially Make Up Your Own Holiday Day.
