Broward County Library's 2007
- 2008 Annual Report
Broward County Library's 2007 - 2008 Annual Report offers an interactive
format allowing users to experience how Broward County Library
touches the lives of so many residents every single day.
The annual report offers an online photo journal of each month
within the fiscal year. Photos of events and services showcase
all of the important aspects of the library. Whether students
are improving their writing skills by entering an essay contest
or adults are enjoying a musical celebration, Broward County Libraries
affect the lives of numerous people in this community.
To view photos and information about these events, click on any
of the months from October 2007 through September 2008. Each month
offers images and text linked in a Web page that appears below
the annual report header with a online calendar to the right of
the rotating images.
Additionally, extensive efforts towards developing the online
community continue to offer customers more access and features.
Click
on Excelling into the Future: The Online Community to
read about the library's Check Out Being Green campaign, the library's
case study: Transforming a Library's Web Site, Reducing Dependency
on Print, and the library's E-Communication programs. Online
statistics are also available showing how Broward County Library
has increased electronic visitors and page views on a consistent
basis.

The second tab, Expanding
the System: Ceremonies, shows how Broward County Library
has grown for the community. Rotating images help show how new
facilities have been built to expand Broward County Library. Dedication
ceremonies of the new West Regional Library, the new Tyrone Bryant
Branch Library, and the new Miramar Library and Education Center
took place in fiscal year 2007 - 2008. A groundbreaking ceremony
for the new Lauderdale Lakes Library and Community Educational
and Community Center also was held.
The final tab, Exceeding
Expectations: Highlights and Financial Reports, shows
the statistics of the library as well as the financial reporting
information in easy-to-read graphs.
