Randall Robinson

Author of Quitting America, Defending the Spirit, The Debt, The Reckoning 

Randall Robinson rose from a poor childhood in the segregated South to become one of the most distinguished and controversial political activists of our times. In 1977, Robinson founded TransAfrica, the first organization to advocate constructive and enlightened U.S. policies toward Africa and the Caribbean. He currently lives with his wife and daughter in St. Kitts.





Marysé Conde


Marysé Conde is a Guadeloupean author of epic fiction is best known for her historical novel Segou. Conde's novels question stereotypical images of literary characters, colonialism, sex and gender. She has also published 12 novels, children's books, a booklet about Guadeloupe, book-length essays about francophone women writers and oral literatures in Martinique and Guadeloupe, Antillian fiction and numerous articles mainly about Caribbean Literature and cultural studies.

Conde is an award-winning writer and a Fullbright scholar. She has been a professor at Columbia and Harvard universities, the University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Virginia. She now teaches at Princeton University and lives between New York and Guadeloupe with her husband and translator, Richard Philcox.






Omar Tyree

Author of For the Love of Money, Diary of a Groupie, Leslie, Just Say No!, Sweet St. Louis, A Do Right Man 

Omar Tyree is an author, publisher, lecturer and performance poet who completed his undergraduate studies at Howard University with honors in print journalism. Tyree self-published three successful books between 1992 and 1994 and was picked up by Simon & Schuster in 1995 publishing more than ten books. In August 2000, Tyree landed on the New York Times Bestsellers List with For the Love of Money after just one week in publication. That same year he won the NAACP Image Award for his sequel to Flyy Girl.




 

Victor McGlothin
Author of 
Every Sistah Wants It

Victor McGlothin almost lost an athletic scholarship due to poor reading skills. Ultimately, he overcame that obstacle and later completed a Masters degree in Human Relations and Business. After developing a love for the written word, Victor left a vice president position with a local bank to pursue a career in literature. He now lives in the Dallas area with his wife and two sons.






Travis Hunter
Author of A One Woman Man, Married But Still Looking, and Trouble Man

Travis Hunter is an author, songwriter and father. His book The Hearts of Men  was self-published in 2000 by his publishing company, Jimrose. During the 2000 Book Expo America in Chicago, Hunter was signed by Random House's imprint, Villard Books for the re-release of The Hearts of Men, Married but Still Looking  and his current release, Trouble Man. He is a native of Florence, S.C., attended Clark Atlanta University and Georgia State University where he majored in Psychology. He is the founder of the Atlanta organization, Hearts of Men Foundation through which he mentors underprivileged children.






Bernice L. McFadden

McFadden was born, raised and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. She is the eldest of four children and the mother of one daughter, R'yanne Azsa.

Al Collins
Contributing Author, "100 Words of Wisdom"

Al Collins is an inspirational speaker and author. She formed her company, following some time in corporate America. Her first book, My Sistah Our Jouney, illustrated her belief that as we travel through life, we should view it as our journey of discovery and celebration. A teen mom, survivor of tuberculosis as a child and domestic violence and homelessness, the author shares her journey and states "Had it not been for the struggles I've endured, I may not have known how to appreciate the people and experiences that God so perfectly placed in the midst of my journey."





Dr. Teresa M. Wesley

Dr. Wesley, a.k.a. Dr. T. is an internal medicine physician and national medical expert. Dr. T. works with her individual patients and is a known resource of health expertise and information at large. Jemadari Kamara, Ph.D.

Jemadari Kamara
 is a Senior Fulbright professor at the Universite Gaston Berger, St. Louis, Senegal. He is also the director of the Center for African, Caribbean and Community Development, and a Senior Fellow at the John W. McCormack Institute at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Among his numerous publications are the State of the Race, Volumes 1 and 2 (2002), co-editor and contributor: and Socially Responsible Investment and Economic Development, (1987). He is currently the co-director of a community development project in Senegal establishing a community resource center in the St. Louis Region.




Jacques Sotero Agboton

Jacques Sotero Agboton was
born in Senegal. He studied in Ghana and returned to Senegal in 1978 where he worked as an accountant for a decade. He then moved to the United States of America where he began his writing career. He travels extensively across the continents of Africa, North and South America to lecture on Pan Africanism. Currently, he is the National Coordinator of the 2007 World Congress of Panafricans to be held in Dakar, Senegal.
