Broward County Library
Outreach Services Section
Broward County Library's Outreach Services Section identifies and serves the need of groups that are traditionally non-library users and the economically disadvantaged. It also produces multicultural programming that represent the diversity of Broward County.
Initiatives include special programs for new immigrant populations, providing orientation to library services and materials and information in adapting to a new country.
International Program Services connects the library and the community to the cultural resources available through foreign governments and their local representatives.
The Hispanic Affairs Office works closely with the diverse Spanish-speaking community in the county and develops cultural programs, collections and services for this growing segment of the population.
Outreach programs and special events are a focal point of the department including the coordination of Women's History Month, the Pan African Book Festival and Cultural Conference, Hispanic Heritage Month, Asian Pacific Heritage Month and a host of other cultural and literary based events. Program and Exhibit Services offer a wide variety of information through educational and cultural exhibits and programs at all library locations.
