Libraries Rock!

Read, learn, attend great events and win prizes. Open to all ages – preschool, children, teens and adults. All events are listed in our Summer at Your Library magazine.

Register to win prizes for reading, learning and attending awesome library events! You can register online or in person at your favorite Broward County Library location. The more you participate, the better your chances to win Panthers tickets, jerseys and special fan experiences as well as other great prizes.

Summer at Your Library sponsors, the Florida Panthers, will  tour 11 of Broward County Libraries providing games and an opportunity for children and families to meet Panthers guest, alumni and personalities. Summer at Your Library Signature Events - All events are free unless otherwise noted.

  • June 15 - Afro-Caribbean Weekend Fest: Celebrate Afro-Caribbean culture and cuisine along with an interactive storytelling experience, 6-8PM, Foster Park Community Center Micro-Library
  • June 16 - Afro-Caribbean Weekend Fest: Storytelling contest and music festival featuring a story slam, steel drum and junkanoo bands, food trucks and more, 2-6PM, Hallandale Beach Library
  • June 16 - Juneteenth Blues and Sweet Potato Pie Festival: Live music, games, food and fun, presented by Northwest Branch Library, 11AM-5PM, Apollo Park, 1580 NW 3rd Ave., Pompano Beach, FL 33060 (adjacent to library)
  • July 20, 21 - South Florida Book Festival: A weekend of authors, presentations, cooking demos and more, call 954-357-6282 or visit Bookfest.Broward.org for details, African-American Research Library and Cultural Center
  • August 3 - Rock After Hours: Adults 21 and over can enjoy an evening of music, dance and vinyl record sales. A $10 entrance fee gets you a night of entertainment, a free signature cocktail, refreshments and lots of fun, 7-9:30PM, Main Library
  • August 11 - Fort Lauderdale Story Slam: Adults 21 and over are invited for a night of poetry and fun, tickets are $15/$10, call 954-357-6282 for details, 6-9:30PM, African-American Research Library and Cultural Center

Summer Break Spot - Free Lunch/Snack

Children and teens up to 18 years of age are invited to these libraries for a free lunch and/or afternoon snack. Please contact participating libraries for details on Summer Break Spot days and hours.
