The Mental Health Association of Broward County
and the Broward County LEAD XVI Class hosted a
"Mental Health and Substance Use Expo"
at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts
on May 14, 2003, the day proclaimed by the Broward
County Commission as "Mental Health and Substance
Use Awareness Day."
Mental health and substance abuse
providers, county employees, and the general public
attended and discovered why … It's OK To
Talk About Mental Health and Substance Use. These
issues affect one in every five Americans and
they may even affect you or someone you love.
With education and awareness we can create hope
and understanding for all people.
