Workgroup Activities
Social Marketing
We are creating and developing community presentations, pamphlets, flyers, and other educational material for children and families, mental health service providers, and primary care physicians to educate them on the system of care principles.
MIS
We are responsible for the development and implementation of a Management Information System (MIS) that all organizations serving children will share to provide better service. This initiative includes a common database of agencies and services.
Cultural Competence
We are making sure that all components of the grant are culturally competent, which means that they serve people of all different cultures, backgrounds and ethnicities. We will develop guides and resource information on leadership development and recruitment for the governing bodies, and design and implement programs and services that are compatible with the cultural and linguistic uniqueness of our community.
Wraparound
We are implementing Wraparound services within Broward County. The Wraparound process includes: persistent commitment to families, child-centered and family-focused safety first, individualized strength based planning, collaboration and community support, cultural competency and utilizing informal supports.
Family Involvement
We are responsible for making sure that the family voice is the driving force in the treatment of children with severe emotional disturbance. Family involvement provides support to families as they face the challenges associated with raising their children. It is essential that System of Care meets the physical, emotional, financial and cultural/spiritual needs of the families that it serves. Family voice and choice is a component in the success of this project.
Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance (QI/QA)
We are responsible for maintaining a continuous and systematic quality improvement program to assess and enhance the overall provision of services. The objectives in our quality improvement plan are: to identify the system’s strengths and areas needing improvement; to resolve identified problems, thereby improving quality of services; to maintain wraparound fidelity; and for providers to be held responsible for meeting their contractual outcomes.
