K9's in the Karibbean 2008 -- Central Broward Regional Park

Thank you to everyone who attended! 375 dogs braved the wind and cooler weather to romp around this relatively new water park.  The total tickets sold to dogs for all four weekends was 3,097.  We know many people enjoyed all four water parks because by the third weekend we knew faces and dogs like old friends. The photos below were taken by student volunteers Miranda and Courtney. Thanks to everyone who donated to the Friends of Animal Care, all the volunteers who helped with the event and Wendy Roth for bringing baby socks for the raw paws!

New friends playing  The dogs love the big balls with a handle to grab
Bassett fun was mostly poolside  The lap pool was popular with the swimmers
Fun games with the football  Wait - that wasn't a toy provided by the parks
Boots helped protect paws from rubbing raw  Checking out the water before getting all the way in
Someone has to bring the toy back so the human will throw it again  Husky fun in the cooler weather
The ice cream treat made leaving the fun easier  A wet happy dog
Ice cream eased the pain of the raw paws covered with baby socks  Swimming is a lab's passion
Even the smallest of dogs had a great time  Giving mommy a hug for bring her to the water park
Cherise with student volunteer Miranda picking winning tickets for the dinghies  All ages of dogs were there for fun
All ages of dogs were there for fun  All ages of dogs were there for fun
