Broward Parks Chip Holiday Trees

The Broward County Parks and Recreation Division is committed to recycling through its annual Chip-A-Tree program. The initiative allows Broward County residents to bring holiday trees to a park where they are chipped and used for landscaping throughout the park system.

This year's program was very successful!  Thanks goes to all the residents who dropped of 10,561 trees to be chipped into mulched and used in the parks!  Instead of tossing their tree in the trash, these environmentally-conscious park patrons saved 132 tons of waste from the waste stream.

We will again offer this program starting December 26, 2008.
