Crystal Lake Pineland Scrub Natural Area
3299 N.W. 3rd Ave., Pompano Beach
24.2 acres

Habitat: Very rare sand pine scrub community.

Vegetation:  Canopy of sand pine or scrub oaks and subcanopy of saw palmetto, small scrub oaks, and hog plum. Reindeer lichen, soldier moss, prickly pear, pawpaw, scrub mint, rosemary, and staggerbush can be found in open areas.

Wildlife: Five-lined skink, six-lined racerunner, gopher tortoise, and zebra swallowtail.

Amenities: Concrete trail, interpretive signage, shelter, and kiosk.
