14th Annual Fantasy of Lights 5K Run and Walk |

The 14th Annual Fantasy of Lights 5K Run and Fitness Walk will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Tradewinds Park. Registration for this event is now open at www.active.com. Registration is limited - don't wait to long or you could be left out! All race results will be posted online at splitsecondtiming.com. Fantasy of Lights registration fees are $21.50 for the 5K Run and $18.50 for the Fitness Walk . Fees include the park gate entrance fee.
The 5K Run starts at 6 p.m. This is a unique evening race on a USATF-certified course illuminated with millions of lights and larger-than-life animated displays. The 5K course is flat, fast, and ideal for setting a personal record!
Participants will be using a ChronoTrack Timing System, which is chipless. This means race participants no longer have to pick up a chip before the race or hand one in at the end. Race participants timing device is located on the race number. Participants peel off the D-Tag timing strip, fold it over, adhere the two ends together and place it on their shoe. After the race participants simply throw out the tag when they return home. Any participant who is not wearing a D-Tag on his or her shoe will not be timed or scored in the results. Top Five in Age Groups
The Kids' Fun Run will begin at 6:50 p.m. and is free. The run will be held on the soccer field for children ages 12 and under only. Each participant will receive a ribbon. Age groups are:
The 2.5-Mile Fitness Walk will start at 7 p.m., and the fee is $17. This event, which will not be timed or scored, takes place on the 5K race course. Strollers are allowed in the 2.5-mile Fitness Walk. Restrictions No pets, skateboards, in-line skates, or bicycles allowed for the 2.5-mile Fitness Walk or the 5K Run. T-Shirts
Each registered participant will receive a long-sleeved multicolored shirt.
Participants will enjoy a deejay, costumed characters, a bounce house for kids, and a variety of foods, desserts, and drinks. Massages provided by the Florida College of Natural Health.
