Hollywood North Beach view This popular 56-acre park, located at A1A and Sheridan Street, acquired by Broward County in 1988, provides access to 1.1 miles of the City of Hollywood’s public beach and beautiful views of the Intracoastal Waterway.  Beach-side parking is available for a per vehicle fee daily.  Metered parking (bring quarters) is available on the Intracoastal side and along side streets.

 

On the beach side, you can enjoy grilled hamburgers, fries, pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, cool beverages, and other snacks at the Turtle Cafe concession.  This concession area has a raised accessible deck that provides an awesome Atlantic Ocean view. Restrooms and outdoor showers are also located on the beach side near the concession.  Picnic areas with tables and grills are available along the beach side. 

 

Bridge ShelterA special feature on the beach side is a 60-foot-tall wooden observation tower that provides a panoramic view of the area and opportunities for a cardio workout while climbing the stairs to the top! 

 

The Intracoastal side of the park features two 50-person-capacity shelters at the Loggerhead area, each with water, electricity, a large grill, and picnic tables.  The Bridge and Cove shelters can be reserved daily ($110 weekends and County holidays, $50 weekdays).  The park is closed Veteran's Day, the day after Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  Restrooms and volleyball are located near the shelters.

Additional picnic areas with grills and tables are available on the Intracoastal side at the Leatherback, Green, Kemps Riley, and Hawksbill pocket parks.  The Leatherback and Hawksbill areas also feature restrooms.

 

Fishing piers can be accessed from the Kemps Riley and Hawksbill areas.

Hollywood North Beach Special Events

 

Turtle Program

Four species of sea turtles use South Florida's beaches during the spring/summer months to lay and incubate their eggs until the hatchlings emerge 45 Baby loggerhead turtleto 55 days later. This program, presented by Sea Turtle Conservation staff from Nova Southeastern University, shares the mysterious life of sea turtles and their fight for survival, and ends with a beach-side release of hatchlings on Wednesday and Friday nights from July through September.

 

Family Fun Fishing Day

Co-hosted by  Youth Environmental Alliance, this free activity uses the scenic backdrop of the Intracoastal Waterway to promote the sport of fishing, fish identification, and the correct use of fishing rods and tackle. Take this opportunity to experience a restful piece of Hollywood while sharing a favorite pastime with your family.

 

National Ice Cream Day

A fun way to celebrate one of America's favorite foods, ice cream. Watch for this event featuring sundaes and ice cream-related activities the third Sunday of July.

 

Candy Cane Parade

This hometown parade, hosted by the City of Hollywood, is complete with lighted floats, local dignitaries, and candy rolling down Hollywood's Broadwalk beginning at Hollywood North Beach Park. The park provides parking, restrooms, and a concession stand while serving as a major float-staging area.

 

Night Hike By the Seashore

This hike is a wonderful way for families to experience the beach at night while learning about some of its seldom-seen creatures.

 

Surfside rideSurfside Ride

Promoting Florida Bicycle Month each March, this 12-mile event encourages safe family riding with a beautiful course along some of the area's finest beaches and parks. The ride starts and finishes at Hollywood North Beach Park.
