Bow Wow, Splish Splash
- Dogs have their day at pooches-only event at four water parks -
WHAT: The Broward County Parks and Recreation Division presents K9 Water Festivals, for dogs ages 4 months and up, at the water parks at four regional parks: Splash Adventure at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach (October 31 and November 1), Paradise Cove at C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines (November 7 and 8), Tropical Splash at Central Broward Regional Park (November 14 and 15), and Castaway Island at T.Y. Park in Hollywood (November 21 and 22). Admission is $3 per dog per 50-minute session, with sessions beginning on the hour from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dogs will be off leashes and free to play in the water parks. Balls and Frisbees will be provided; no outside toys or dog food/treats will be permitted. Lifeguards will be on duty. All dogs must be up to date on all vaccinations and have proof of current rabies vaccination. Dogs who are not sociable and well-behaved will be asked to leave. No people will be allowed in the water with the dogs. Food and beverages, including doggie ice cream, will be available for purchase.
Donations will be accepted for the homeless animals at Broward County animal shelters. All donations are 100 percent tax-deductible. The money is used to purchase much-needed medicine, support the foster program, increase adoptions, and purchase animal equipment and supplies. Donations of new and gently used supplies (dog beds, towels, collars, leashes, canned food, treats, etc.) are also accepted.

HOW: $3/dog per 50-minute session; sessions start on the hour. The parks’ regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee of $1.50/person (children 5 and under free) will also be in effect.
