Gallery Exhibit Features the Art of Roberta SilverShaw
WHAT: The Exhibit Hall at the Anne Kolb Nature Center at West Lake Park hosts a free Gallery Exhibit, “City Critters: The Fragile Web,” featuring the work of wildlife artist Roberta SilverShaw. The show runs from Friday, October 2 through Friday, October 30. The Exhibit Hall is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no charge to view the art exhibit, although there is a per-person fee of $1 to tour the Exhibit Hall.
SilverShaw, who lives in Davie, is a Miami native who says she learned respect for wildlife from watching her grandfather tend to baby birds that were orphaned when they fell from their nests. For 20 years she was director of the Wildlife Care Center’s Humane Education Program, which she established in 1974. She remains active in wildlife-related causes and continues to hone her art, which includes drawing, painting, and photography.
