A little history...Once known as the Snead Tract, after golfer Sam Snead, the land for this park was purchased in 1980 using 1978 bond issue funds. The late environmentalist and Broward County Commissioner Anne Kolb recommended that an observation tower be erected among the tree tops of the site's live oak canopy, hence the name of the park. Tree Tops Park opened in December 1983.
