With an average daily high of 90°F in the summer and 78°F in the winter, it's almost always a great day to go to a park in sunny South Florida. Broward County Parks and Recreation has been serving the community for 52 years.
We offer a vast array of ways for residents and visitors to recreate during their leisure hours — aquatics, racquet centers, water-skiing, horseback riding, skate parks — you name it and chances are we offer it! We also offer classes so you can learn new skills and discover a variety of ways to unwind and appreciate the beauty of nature. We even offer classes and activities for your pets!
In 2006, we launched a new fitness program, Commit 2B Fit™ — It Starts in Parks. Learn how you can get active, get healthy, and get rewarded by earning engraved charms. Regular physical activity can help you control your weight, lower your blood pressure, reduce your risk of many diseases, and help your psychological well-being. With so many activities to choose from, a Broward County park is a great place to maintain an active lifestyle.
Our mission statement: The Parks and Recreation Division is dedicated to providing exceptional services and facilities essential to the quality of life in Broward County while preserving our natural areas.
Recreation and leisure time is a precious commodity. We all work hard and want to make the most of our "play" time. We invite you to come to a County park and spend some of your precious leisure time making memorable moments of your own. Remember, "It Starts in Parks!" Gate admission is only charged on weekends and holidays.
