Changes to Motor Carrier Ordinance

Broward County's new ordinance requires thousands of vehicles for hire to be inspected by licensed, private-sector auto mechanics, technicians and auto repair shops. Due to this change, we will not be conducting vehicle for hire inspections previously scheduled for the month of June at Port Everglades. Please view our list of approved auto repair shops to complete your vehicle inspection.
 
Certified master auto mechanics and technicians: get on the list of approved inspection providers. Attend our upcoming vehicle for hire inspection seminar on Tuesday, June 9th or Monday, June 15th at 9AM at the Government Center West, 1 N. University Dr. in Plantation.
 

New Towing Licensing Requirement

On October 14, 2014, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners enacted a new ordinance regulating companies that tow or immobilize motor vehicles in Broward County with an effective date of April 1, 2015. All businesses that tow vehicles in Broward County, both consent and non-consent, must get a license from us by April 1, 2015. More
