Cruise Terminals
| For reference purposes, Port Everglades is divided into three sections: Northport (north end), Midport (mid-section) and Southport (south end). All of the Port's cruise terminals and parking garages are located in Northport (Cruise Terminals 1, 2 and 4) and Midport (Cruise Terminals 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 29). |
| Northport Cruise Terminals
Terminal 1
Description: Dual purpose facility handling both cruise and cargo operations.
Cruise terminal: 4,672 square feet / 434 square meters
Baggage handling: 24,780 square feet / 2,302 square meters
Transit cargo warehouse: 41,220 square feet / 3,829 square meters
Built: 1958 as Terminal #43
Renovations: '82 & '92- renovated passenger holding room; '94- new firewall; '96- paint; '98- $650,000 upgrade included a new roof, air-conditioning for the baggage handling area, a colorful exterior canopy for passenger protection in inclement weather and improved handicapped access.
Primary user(s): New SeaEscape Cruises

Terminal 2
Description: Dual purpose facility handling both cruise and cargo operations.
Cruise terminal: 19,172 square feet / 1,781 square meters
Baggage handling: 50,000 square feet / 2,323 square meters
Transit cargo warehouse: 30,600 square feet / 2,843 square meters
Built: 1958 as Terminal #42
Renovations: '83- added second floor passenger area; '89- upgraded flooring; '94- added new firewall; '95- the terminal underwent a major $2.8 million expansion and upgrade. Its renovations set the standard for several other terminal upgrades with the baggage claim area air-conditioned and completely redesigned to absorb passenger check-in activities. This allows the former check-in area to be used for a larger comfortable seating area while passengers wait to board ships. The terminal also has an additional set of restrooms, another set of stairway and escalators and a second passenger loading bridge for smoother embarking and disembarking; '97 / '98- 4,000 sq. ft. (372 sq. m.) of newly created office space for Princess Cruises underwent an $280,000 interior design project; 2005 - doubling of the baggage hall from 25,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet.

Terminal 18
Description: Dual purpose facility handling both cargo and cruise operations.
Cruise terminal: 29,200 square feet / 2,713 square meters
Baggage handling: 29,000 square feet / 2,694 square meters
Transit cargo warehouse: 30,000 square feet / 2,787 square meters
Built: 1964
Renovations: New cruise terminal opened in '96. $11.5 million renovation project turned former cargo warehouse into port's 10th world-class cruise terminal. Added second floor, complete restructuring with all new interior, exterior.

Facilities: Covered passenger drop-off, passenger seating, two sets of restrooms, mezzanine, two elevators, two escalators, duty-free concession, snack bar, baggage handling, two hydraulically-powered, covered passenger loading bridges, fully air-conditioned, handicapped access.
Parking: Midport Parking Garage
Comments: One of the world's largest cruise facilities and perhaps the only facility that accommodates active container operations during the week and five star cruise operations on the weekend. The transit cargo warehouse side of the terminal now serves as South Florida's only dockside coffee warehouse. |

Transit cargo warehouse: 35,500 square feet / 3,298 square meters
Built: 1966
Renovations: '87- renovated passenger holding room, flooring, A/C, added passenger pick-up & drop-off canopy; '94- new roof; '96- overall upgrade, paint. '97- $2 million general upgrade with new firewall, flooring, new exterior entranceway canopy, new restrooms and stairway, new automatic entry/exit doors, check-in relocated to newly air-conditioned baggage claim area and old location tuned into enhanced passenger waiting area.

Renovations: '81- added escalator & covered passenger loading bridge, renovated passenger holding room; '89- new ceiling, A/C, renovated restrooms; '92- expanded frontage, new hydraulically-powered, covered passenger loading bridge; '96- new flooring, new roof; 2000- major reconstruction planned to add 33,000 sq. ft. Comments: Expansion of Cruise Terminal #21 to the south will allow the facility to accommodate the new breed of mega-ships coming on line with higher cruise passenger capacities. This $9 -plus project will add a 33,000 square foot (3,066 sq. m.) elevated terminal attached to the existing facility which becomes a large baggage handling area. The new enlarged world-class facility will offer open panoramic views similar to the seaport's other newer terminals, with a direct connection to the Midport Parking Garage by a covered passenger walkway. Completion anticipated in fall, 2000.

Terminal 25
Description: Cruise terminal
Cruise terminal: 13,448 square feet / 1,249 square meters
Baggage handling: 18,733 square feet / 1,740 square meters
Built: 1992
Renovations: '93- A/C added to baggage claim area; '94- new passenger covering canopy; '95- new flooring. '99- A major expansion of this cruise terminal, completed in spring '99, added another 15,000 sq. ft. resulting in an approximate total 25,000 sq. ft. for baggage handling operations and an approximate total of 23,000 sq. ft. for the passenger area. The $2 million project included a second escalator, another set of restrooms, full air conditioning and a new overhead canopy for the passenger drop-off/pick-up area. The expanded terminal offers flexible passenger processing operations for the new class of mega-cruise ships and included repositioning of the terminal's passenger loading bridge to match loading doors on ships over 900 feet long.

Description: Port Everglades will construct its 12th full-time cruise terminal with the reconfiguration of Terminal 27 and the extension of the berth to handle megaships. The estimated completion of the Passenger Terminal 27 project is scheduled for 2007/2008 at an estimated cost of $16.4 . |

Terminal 29
Description: Dual purpose facility handling both cargo and cruise operations
Cruise terminal: 20,250 square feet/1,881 meters
Baggage handling: 24,500 square feet/2,276 meters
Built: 2002
Renovations: Recent $8 million project that converted cargo terminal into a weekend cruise terminal accommodating ships up to 800 feet (245 meters) long and 42 feet (12.8 meters) deep.
Primary user(s): Cruise ships on the weekends during the busy Caribbean cruise season.; Berth used for cargo on weekdays
Facilities: Two-story building with window views of the Intracoastal Waterway
Parking: Midport parking garage
Comments: The design/build team of Bruno-Elias Inc. (designers) and Danville-Findorf Inc. (construction contractors) developed this terminal.
