| SunPort Intermodal Center and People Mover Study |
|
|
Underway is a Project Development and Environmental Study of an Intermodal Center and People Mover System between Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Known as SunPort, the project is envisioned to conveniently transport cruise passengers from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades. The goal of the plan is to alleviate road congestion on the limited access roads between and at the two facilities, while providing passengers with a convenient mode of transportation. Several transportation options have been explored including light rail, monorail and a dedicated roadway for buses. Passengers would make their transportation connection through an intermodal center located between the two facilities. To view the latest SunPort presentation, click here.
