The Mass Transit Division operates Broward County Transit (BCT), the County's public transportation system, providing more than 38 million trips annually. This Division's goal is to provide clean, efficient, and cost-effective public transportation for residents and visitors. BCT also provides transportation and evacuation services during a County state of emergency, such as during preparations for a hurricane.
Routes and Service
Fixed-route bus service begins as early as 4:30 a.m. and continues until 12:30 a.m. on many routes. Late night service is available on some weekend routes. Route 18 provides service to the tri-county area, including Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties. This route features "441 Limited" service (only 20 stops along U.S. Highway 441/State Road 7) weekdays only during peak hours from 5:55 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. BCT also provides other transportation options, including:
-
Funding for service to and from all Tri-Rail stations in Broward County - in addition to fixed-route service that goes to or near all Tri-Rail stations. Call 800-TRI-RAIL for schedule information.
-
Paratransit transportation (See Also Transportation)
-
Special event park-and-ride transportation - for the Winterfest Boat Parade and the Air & Sea Show.
-
Community bus service - provided in partnership with several municipalities in Broward County. To find out if your municipality participates, call your city hall. (See Also Municipalities)
Fares
The regular fixed-route bus fare is $1.00 per trip. There are no transfers from one BCT bus to another BCT bus.
