This section provides alternative fuel vehicles for the County's general fleet and maintains fueling and advanced technology infrastructures. Through the use of alternative fuel vehicles, Broward County takes a lead role in the reduction of petroleum consumption. The use of alternative fuels also promotes the market for alternative fuel, encourages new technology, and enhances the United States' self-sufficiency for its energy needs. Alternative fuels also ensure a healthier environment by reducing the levels of greenhouse gases and other pollutants.
Energy Efficient Buildings Section
954-357-6489
This section provides programs and services to ensure energy-efficient facilities, effective building automation, life safety systems and reliable accounting for energy usage. It also provides outreach services to educate the public on the beneficial aspects of efficient technologies. These efforts help make Broward County operations more energy-efficient, resulting in annual savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars for the residents of Broward County.
