This section coordinates various recycling programs for Resource Recovery Partner Cities, the Broward County School Board, and Broward County government offices. The Recycling Section also manages the County’s electronics recycling and recovery program and the waste tire cleanup and suppression program, in coordination with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO).

This program provides residents with free drop-off locations for the safe disposal of old electronics, televisions, computers, and more. Collected items are processed and recycled through a local not-for-profit organization that partners with the County. Businesses may contact the not-for-profit directly for disposal options at 954-577-4160.

The Broward County School Board contracts with Broward County government for recycling service and education in all public schools. The Recycling Section of Waste and Recycling Services administers this contract. Programming includes classroom presentations, school staff training, a quarterly newsletter and status report of each school's progress. All program components are supported by various publications and promotional items that reinforce the recycling message. The School Recycling Program collects millions of pounds of recycling annually. Non-public schools (private, charter, colleges and universities, etc.) should contact the program coordinator for more information on initiating a recycling program.

The Recycling and Contract Administration Division coordinates efforts to remove illegally dumped tires and provides drop-off locations for residential use.
