The Mass Transit Division provides paratransit service, also known as TOPS (Transportation Options), to qualified disabled persons who have physical, cognitive or visual disabilities, are functionally unable to use the regular fixed-route bus service, and who live within 3/4 of a mile of the regular fixed-route bus system.
Paratransit service runs during the same hours as the fixed-route bus system and allows riders to have a choice of transportation providers depending on the type of trip. Paratransit riders who want to learn how to use the fixed-route bus system may request travel training. This personal, one-on-one instruction teaches individuals how to ride the buses, and it is free to qualified individuals. After completing travel training, a bonus pass is awarded for free bus service for a limited time.
