Vessel Registration

The Revenue Collection Division acts as an agent for the State of Florida, registering vessels and collecting registration fees for vessels which are both motorized and "domiciled" in Florida. Vessels which can be used for transportation on navigable Florida waters must be registered and renewed each year by midnight of the owner’s birthday (or by June 30 for companies). You will be issued a permanent Florida identification number and a validation decal each year.

For your first-time vessel registration, you will need to apply for a Florida title or present proof of application. Individuals can present proof of application by supplying their Florida driver’s license number or the Federal employer’s identification number and the type of vessel for vessels owned by a company. You will receive reminder notices in the mail each year at the owner’s last reported address. The cost of registration is based on the length of the vessel.

You can register your vessel in any of the following ways:

• at any of the Broward County Revenue Collection Division's auto tag agencies or
  authorized private agencies
• online (with no additional fee) at www.broward.org/revenue
• if you have a PIN, you can renew by telephone toll-free at 866-467-3639.
  There is an additional fee assessed by the state for this service.
• By mail at (not a walk-up location):

  Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. 5:30 p.m.

  Private Tag Agencies
  Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  These agencies are privately-owned businesses acting as agents for the County.
