The Purchasing Division is pleased to announce a new link to Vendors seeking subcontracting opportunities with the County's Job Order Contracting Program (JOC) which is being administered by the Gordian Group. Visit the Gordian Group's Website. Note: Once on this site, go to the second column (Job/Contractor Search). This will take you to another site, click on the third menu item on the left column (Start Search). This will take you to a search database where you can put in your criteria for projects, dates and location. On May 12, 2009, Broward County implemented a new reporting requirement of its prime vendors. This requires prime vendors to provide information on all sub vendors and all suppliers that provide in excess of $50,000 in materials. With regards to the collection of information on suppliers, the intent is to capture any 3rd party suppliers that are part of larger projects and direct purchases do not need to be reported. Prime vendors on contracts which are participating in either the County Business Enterprise (CBE) or the Federal Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) programs will continue to report on the sub vendors and suppliers certified in these programs in the same fashion as before. These Prime vendors will need to begin reporting the non-certified sub vendors and suppliers. Prime vendors on contracts that are not participating in either program must report on all sub vendors and suppliers. Specific information on the reporting requirement is included in the solicitation documents provided on this website. Please review the solicitation documents carefully and ensure that all the requested information is provided with your submittal. On April 28, 2009, the Broward County Board of Commissions adopted revisions to the Broward County Procurement Code amending Sections 21.22, 21.23, 21.31, 21.84, 21.87, 21.118, 21.119, and 21.120 of the Broward County Administrative Code. The revisions to the Procurement Code became effective upon adoption and are published in Municipal Code (municode.com). Go to the link below for a copy of the Procurement Code Resolution which sets forth the adopted changes. |
The Purchasing Division is charged with the responsibility to procure all goods, services and construction for agencies under the supervision of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. Please note this excludes those sections of the government that come under elected officials or elected boards, i.e., Broward Sheriff's Office, Broward County School Board, the Clerk of the Court, Supervisor of Elections, Property Appraiser and other offices that may fall wholly or partially under the State. The Purchasing Division not only buys everything used by the Board of County Commissioners, but also handles all surplus sales. If you have questions concerning contracting with Broward County, either for supplying goods or services to the County or on bidding on surplus items, please refer to the Contact Information to contact the appropriate agent.
