Formal Bids

The following is a list of formal bids (estimated value in excess of $30,000.00) for products and/or services that have been advertised by the Broward County Purchasing Division. Responding to a Bid

Bids listed herein contain the County's Invitation for Bids form at the beginning of each bid document. RLI's and County Attorney forms do not contain this document. If you respond to a bid, the first page of the Invitation for Bids form is an integral part of your bid response. It must contain an original signature, in ink (per Item 1 of the form), and must be returned along with your completed Price Sheet. Responses to an Invitation for Bid may not be faxed or sent via email.  Bids that require the bid pricing sheet electronically must still be submitted in hard copy form with the addition of a CD-Rom containing the bid pricing sheet in Excel format.  The CD-Rom disc must be read-only.  The CD-Rom will become property of the County as part of your bid submittal; as such it is submitted at a no-cost basis to the County.  You must use the bid pricing template provided and CD-Rom is the only electronic media accepted.  Further instructions are provided in the Invitation for Bid.

If you did not receive an electronic notification of a solicitation listed on this site, but you are interested in submitting a bid, contact the Purchasing Contracts Section at (954) 357-6069 to add your name to the bidders list for that solicitation. Only vendors on the bidders list for a particular solicitation will receive e-mail notification of addenda to that solicitation (see Addenda section below).

Bids must be returned in a sealed envelope with the Bid number, Bid title, and Bid Opening date marked in the lower left hand corner of the envelope.  The company name and address must also be visible on the outside of the envelope.  Mail responses to: Broward County Purchasing Division, 115 S. Andrews Ave., Rm 212, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. Bids received after the bid opening deadline will be rejected. Bids may also be picked up at the Broward County Purchasing Division, Governmental Center, 115 S. Andrews Ave., Room 212, Fort Lauderdale (unless directed otherwise).

Note to New Vendors

To receive notification of upcoming solicitations for your area(s) of interest, see the section on Vendor Registration. Notifications for formal bids and Requests for Letters of Interest are issued via e-mail, as solicitations for the products/services specified on your registration form become available. It is the responsibility of each registered vendor to provide the County with a current, valid e-mail address. If you are already a registered vendor with Broward County and would like to update your vendor information, please contact the Purchasing Division at (954) 357-6066.

Addenda to Notices for Bid

Bids may have had Addenda issued to them. An Addendum in some way modifies information from the original bid, i.e., to announce changes in the bid opening date, specifications, terms, conditions, or modifications to the Bid Sheet. In addition, many addenda are mandatory (MUST be signed and returned with your bid). Anyone bidding or contemplating bidding should contact the Purchasing Division to receive e-mail notification of Addenda for that bid.  Vendors who have not requested to be added to the bidders list shall be responsible for obtaining addenda information from this website.

The information contained herein is provided as a public notice. It may not, however, represent a completely accurate listing of all outstanding solicitations. Also, changes in date and/or time for a bid to be opened or for cancellations of solicitations may not always be reflected. CONE OF SILENCE - Broward County has enacted a Cone of Silence which generally prohibits communications with anyone serving on a Selection /Negotiation Committee or anyone who evaluates or recommends selection in the procurement process.  Said prohinition begins upon shortlisting and terminates upon award.

Special Notice Regarding Potential Declaration of Emergency

During emergencies, Broward County may be under a Declaration of Emergency issued by the Broward County Mayor.  In such situations the County offices may be closed. 

In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.30.D.2 "All Bids Unopened.  If all bids are not opened at the appropiate time and date of the bid opening, for any reason other than failure of the vendors to present their bids or cause their bid to be presented at the appropiate time, the bid opening may occur at the next regularly scheduled bid opening date.  This automatic extension of the bid opening time may occur without notice to bidders if there has been no other change in requirements or specifications other than the delay of opening of the bid.  Any vendor submitting a bid after the delayed original time and date, but before the next regularly scheduled time and date for bid opening, shall have the bid accepted, opened, and fully considered for award."

NOTE TO VENDORS

The standard bid opening date will be changing from Tuesday to Wednesday effective  September 30, 2008.  The starting time of the public bid opening meeting will remain at 2:00 pm.
