Message from Commissioner Ritter

Broward County is positioning itself to receive maximum benefits from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The economic stimulus legislation, proposed by President Barack Obama and passed by the U.S. Congress, will invest in infrastructure and create jobs, provide tax cuts and aid to those in need, improve healthcare and advance educational opportunities, invest in alternative energy programs and provide funding to better protect our environment.

In order to help residents access and understand these opportunities we have created this Web site to provide up to date information on county, recovery.gov logostate, federal and private grants, projects and programs.

Navigating through government processes can sometimes seem complicated, but the information presented here will help you take advantage of these stimulus benefits as they are made available to our community.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 is a strategic investment in our Country’s future that is designed to stimulate and stabilize our economy.
