The Small Business Development Division supports the growth and sustainability of Broward County's small businesses through the administration of targeted certification, goal setting / compliance, and business services programs. This Division ensures equitable representation for local small businesses on County contacts - thereby assisting in their economic growth - and promotes opportunities for entrepreneurs through County procurement.
Certifications
The Division currently offers three certifications for small businesses, Community Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (CDBE), the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and the Small Business Enterprise (SBE), or Sheltered Market. Read more...

The Small Business Development Division is presenting Meet the Agencies, a seminar series designed to provide small business owners with an insider’s look into how Broward County agencies operate and how they do business with the local business community. The workshop series will be held from 6 PM on various dates throughout the year at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center, located at 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
