 Traffic Signal Systems
The Signal Systems Section provides for the development and implementation of interconnected traffic signal systems, both locally and centrally controlled by computers, and traffic signal design services. The Section oversees the design, construction and maintenance of these systems in Broward County either directly or indirectly through such agencies as the Florida Department of Transportation, the Broward County Engineering Division and other Sections within the Traffic Engineering Division. The overall goal of this Section is to provide and maintain an Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) as part of a total Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) for all of Broward County.
