Cigarette Litter Prevention Program

In an effort to help fight cigarette litter, the Adopt-A-Street Program in partnership with Broward Beautiful, the City of Hollywood, and Broardwalk stakeholders are taking part in Keep America Beautiful’s Cigarette Litter Prevention Pilot Program. 

This innovative program (the first in Broward County) will study and collect data that will assist in implementing an efficient program that will help decrease the level of cigarette butt litter along the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk from Johnson Street to Connecticut Street, while at the same time increasing the public’s awareness of beach litter.

Adopt-A-Street’s strategy consists of three main objectives:    Installation of ash receptacles    Use of pocket ashtrays    Campaigns to educate the public
