From the Coordinator
Dear AAS Volunteers,
This past year has been very rewarding. The program expanded as a couple of new cities and many new groups joined. I'd like to welcome all the new group leaders to the program! You are joining us at a time marked by changes. In fact, this is the first edition of the annual report newsletter that is 100 percent online (no trees were killed in the making of this report).
For those of you who have been with us for awhile, I'd like to thank you for your continued support, and hope you will continue helping us keep Broward litter-free. The program is almost 15 years old, and we are excited to be hitting a big milestone this year. Check out the Volunteer Appreciation page for your invitation to our celebration event!
I hope each of you will plan to participate in the Great American Cleanup (GAC) 2009. With Broward Beautiful being sunset, Adopt-A-Street has stepped up to be the local coordinator and sponsor of the nationwide event through Keep America Beautiful.
Please feel free to call us with your questions or comments. We have a new Student Aide, Matt Gibson, helping us with deliveries, and answering the Litter Hotline. We hope you'll have a chance to meet him at one of our events, and extend a warm welcome.
Warmest regards,
Carrie
