GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP 2009

Adopt-A-Street is coordinating the local efforts for Keep America Beautiful's nationwide Great American Cleanup (GAC) 2009. The GAC runs from March 1 through May 31. During this time, your group can host a cleanup of your adopted street, or go even BIGGER by turning its street cleanup into a community cleanup, or green up .

Our staff is happy to help your group come up with ideas for a GAC event, and we will supply trash bags and gloves for volunteers. T-shirts will be available, while supplies last, so be sure to register your group early!

Last year we had more than 3,000 volunteers participate in the Great American Cleanup of Broward County. Help us reach our goal of adding a thousand more volunteers! We are inviting all Adopt-A-Street groups, Broward County Schools and residents to participate in GAC 2009! There are three ways you can participate:

  1. Adopt-A-Street groups can clean their designated street during March, April or May. (This cleanup will count toward the required four cleanups per year.)
  2. Broward County school groups can set a date during March, April or May to clean up or green up around school grounds.
  3. You can volunteer at one of our scheduled GAC 2009 events.
