Please be advised that the Broward County Board of County Commissioners will be holding a Public Hearing to consider amended water and wastewater rates on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Broward County Governmental Center, 115 South Andrews Avenue, Room 422, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301. The public hearing for the proposed water and wastewater rates will be held immediately following the second public hearing on the recommended Fiscal Year 2017 County budget scheduled at 5:01 p.m.

The average residential customer with 5,000 gallons per month of water consumption will experience an overall increase of $1.92 in their monthly water and wastewater bill -- from $61.89 to $63.81 which equates to a 3.10% increase. The proposed rates are necessary to fund operating costs, debt service costs and cash financing of the capital improvement program. The September 27, 2016 public hearing will be televised and webcast live. For information on participating cable stations, visit www.broward.org.
