Broward County Vice Mayor (second from left) breaks ground on Fire Rescue Station #106 along Interstate 75 in the Everglades in western Broward County. This also served as a ceremonial groundbreaking for two other Broward Sheriff’s Office facilities: an Airport/Seaport station that will also serve as the Fire Rescue Logistics Headquarters and a Hazardous Materials/Technical Rescue Team station. Christmas in July

Commissioner Lois Wexler welcomes nearly 1,000 homeless children and their parents to Christmas in July, presented in by Broward County in partnership with Kiwanis Divisions 23 & 24. Christmas in July provides each of these children with a day of fun at the Office Depot Center, as well as a backpack containing new clothing, school supplies, a toy and other goodies. July 2005.
