Whistle Blower Program
Protection
Employees and the general public can inform the county government administration of allegations of wrongdoing or malfeasance on the part of the county, it's officers, employees, and independent contractors at the following number:
The Office of Professional Standards (954) 357-7896
The identity of persons who file written whistleblower reports of wrongdoing is protected by the section on confidentiality of the Florida State Statutes, 112.3188, as amended.
The Office of Professional Standards also investigates complaints of retaliation from:
a. Employees of the County or its independent contractors who believe they have suffered ADVERSE PERSONNEL ACTION; and
b. Members of the public who believe they have suffered retaliation from the County or its independent contractors;
BECAUSE of their involvement in a whistleblower complaint or investigation.
There is ZERO tolerance for these types of retaliation. Persons who feel they have been subjected to such retaliation may report it to the Professional Standards Unit for investigation.
