Sidewalk Canopies Between Terminals

Canopy under construction

Bus picking up passengers
Night time lighting of new canopy

The recently completed sidewalk canopies provide protection from the sun and rain for the travelers and visitors to the airport. They were built on the upper level sidewalk between the all terminals. At night, they provide additional lighting for the sidewalk and at the curb for dropping off passengers. Also, the Terminal 1 roof was extended to connect with the new sidewalk canopy.

The project consists of:
  • Removing the old canopy supports between Terminals 1 & 2, Terminals 2 & 3, and Terminals 3 & 4.
  • Building the new fabricated steel structures in the same areas.
  • Building a 150 foot extension of the Terminal 1 roof.
Construction began in May 2014 and is was substantially completed in September 2015. The construction cost is $6.85 million.
