The Broward County Aviation Department manages Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and North Perry Airport (a general aviation facility).
for all open positions, apply through the Broward County Human Resources Division's website.
If your child or someone you know is in college or will enter the 11th grade or higher in the next school year, here's an opportunity for them to learn about aviation. Starting in early 2022, we will begin accepting applications for summer 2022 internships, however, opportunities are typically limited.
Two sessions are generally available during the summer, both of which are four weeks long. Interns may apply to participate in one or both of the following sessions:
Session A - Early June - early July
Session B - Mid-July - early August
Due to this program, several interns have gained a better understanding of their future aspirations and formed long-term friendships and networking opportunities. Many of the interns have also gone on to pursue careers within Broward County.
The application form for 2022 summer internships will be posted by April/May of the same year.
Note: Our 2021 and 2020 programs were suspended due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Completed applications should be received or postmarked typically by mid-May of the applicable current year.
