Weight Restriction on Upper Level "Departure" Roadway
Issued: June 8, 2020
FLL20-06-36L
The Broward County Aviation Department (BCAD) has recently completed a review/maintenance program on the departure (upper) level roadway structure that fronts Terminals 2, 3, and 4. Following this work, it has been recommended that vehicles utilizing the departure (upper) level roadway
be restricted to less than 17 tons. New signage with this restriction will be installed during the week of June 8 along all main roadways leading to the departure (upper) level roadway. As a result, large charter buses, including those frequently used by cruise passenger transfer operators, will need to utilize the lower level for drop-off and pick-up passengers. BCAD’s ground transportation operations plan is being updated accordingly.
