SCHEDULE: Thursday, November 21 from 9PM to 4AM
WORK PERFORMED: A contractor will be performing a mill and surface project in the work area of the Maintenance of Traffic.
IMPACT: This will be a flagger operation and will impact one travel lane.

LOWER-LEVEL SPALL REPAIRS AT GROUND TRANSPORTATION AREA 2

ISSUED: November 15, 2019

LOCATION: Lower Level, Ground Transportation Area 2 (GTA-2).
SCHEDULE: Sunday, November 17 to Tuesday, November 26 from 12:30 AM to 5AM daily. AND Tuesday, December 3 to Sunday, December 8 from 12:30 AM to 5AM daily.
WORK PERFORMED: The overhead beams located over the sidewalk at GTA-2 will be repaired.
IMPACT:
  •  The Rental Car Center shuttle will be relocated to the outside curb during the hours of the work project.
  • Portions of the GTA-2 drive lane will be closed during work activity.
  • The pedestrian sidewalk will have limited accessibility.

CROSSWALK SIGNALIZATION LOWER LEVEL ROADWAY

ISSUED: November 15, 2019

LOCATION: Terminal 2, 3 and 4 crosswalk locations.

SCHEDULE: Tuesday, November 19 from 8AM to 12PM.

WORK PERFORMED: Broward County Traffic Engineering will be performing an inspection of the traffic signal installation and sequencing. 
IMPACT:
  • Traffic signals will be operational (green, yellow, red) during the inspection. Motorists and pedestrians should heed the traffic signal direction
  • Crossing guards will be in place to assist with vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow
  • Upon completion of the inspection, the traffic signals will be placed back to the current flashing yellow condition
  • A rolling maintenance of traffic will be in place at each location and only impact one travel lane at a time on the lower level (arrivals) roadway

LEE WAGNER BOULEVARD PARTIAL LANE CLOSURES

Location: Lee Wagner Boulevard east of Perimeter Road

Schedule: Monday, November 18 to Wednesday, November 20 from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. daily.

Work Performed: Contractor will be performing cable installation to support the upcoming Jetscape development. 
 
Impact: Traffic lanes will be reduced to a single lane in both directions during the working hours.

GREENBELT PARK TEMPORARY CLOSURE

RIDESHARE PICK UP AREA WAYFINDING INCLUDES STATION DESIGNATION

 Ron Gardner Aircraft Observation Area Closing for Construction

  • Project Work Location: Ron Garner aircraft viewing area located south of the North Runway (10L‐28R) 
  • Project Work Hours: Wednesday, May 15, 2019, through late fall 2019 (revised Sept. 6, 2019)
  • Work Performed: Contractor will be utilizing the viewing area for construction activities associated with the North Runway Rehabilitation Project

 Feeding of Wildlife on Airport Property

Issued: April 19, 2019
FLL 2019-40

  • Feeding wildlife is a violation of the Broward County ordinance and is subject to a fine.  Initial violation of the ordinance is subject to a $250 fine and repeat violations are subject to a $500 fine.  
  • Section 2-38(k) of the Broward County Code of Ordinances prohibits feeding feral cats and other wildlife on airport property 
  • The feeding of wildlife on Airport property is also a safety and health concern

 Terminal Roadway Arrivals/Departures Level Maximum Clearance Height Restrictions

  • The vertical maximum clearance for Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Terminal Roadway arrivals and departures levels is thirteen feet (13 ft.)
  • This clearance applies to the entire Terminal Roadway width
  • This height clearance applies to all vehicles using the Terminal Roadway arrivals and departure levels

  • Gate 100 and Garages.
  • Vehicles must be attended at all times and are subject to security inspections.
Between now and November 16, our enforcement will be reminding drivers of the forthcoming policy.
This policy took full effect on November 16, 2015.
