Time is of the essence when you are trying to find your lost pet, especially if your pet is not wearing a Broward County Rabies Registration Tag or is without a tattoo or microchip containing identification information. We are required to hold lost pets with identification for five days (not including holidays and when the shelter is closed) and animals without identification for three days, in the hopes that they can be reunited with their owners.

As a pet owner, you are responsible for making every effort to find your pet. You should:

View photos of all the dogs and cats in our shelter. If you see your pet listed, call us immediately at 954-359-1313, ext. 9273; or e-mail us at to place a hold on the dog or cat until you can arrive to pick him up.

View photos of all the dogs and cats reported to us by the residents who found them. If you see your pet listed, e-mail us immediately at so we can give you instructions on how to be reunited with your dog or cat.  



Visit Us

Come to our shelter daily to look for your pet. Even if your pet was wearing a Broward County Rabies Registration Tag or other identification when it was lost, it is important to visit our Adoption Center to search in person. Please click here for our Address, map and hours of operation.

PLEASE NOTE: We always attempt to call you if your dog or cat comes into our Adoption Center and has identification (Broward County Rabies Registration Tag, tattoo, microchip or ID tag). However, as a pet owner, it is your responsibility to contact us about your lost pet and to make every effort to find him.
