Eligible not-for-profit organizations, whose primary mission is cultural, and develops and sustains the cultures, arts, and artists that are rooted in, and reflective of, the cultural heritage and traditions of the community; and whose principal office address, as recorded in the Secretary of State’s Office, is in Broward County, and must have operated in their respective discipline(s) in Broward County for a minimum of one (1) uninterrupted year immediately preceding the date of application, and provided services in Broward County for a minimum of six months in the preceding year, and a governing board, at least 50% of whom reside in Broward County, which meets regularly and operates under a set of bylaws.
Applicants for first year funding must provide a copy of the organization’s application for tax-exempt status under Section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Applicants for subsequent year’s funding shall include an IRS temporary status letter or designation letter with their application.
Funds may be used for reimbursable program expenses associated with the organization’s total program or for specific projects. This program may award funding on a multi-year (up to 5 years) basis. The aim of multi-year funding is to maintain quality programming while assisting the organization in developing its own artistic, management and financial capacities. Technical assistance is a required component of all CDP awardees. Through a series of consultations, workshops, and meetings, awardees are expected to develop their organizations in order to build their capacities.
Matching Funds: Not required in the first or second year. In years three (3), four (4) and five (5), applicant should provide a one-to-one match for the incentive funds.
Award Size: On a funds-available basis, awards between $5,100 - $25,000 annually up to five years.
