Purpose:
The Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society was founded in 1997 to preserve the historic Hillsboro Light in its original form for the safety, enjoyment and education of the public.


Projects:
Eight public tours of the Hillsboro Inlet Light Station per year and special group visits. Preservation activities with the US Coast Guard and other organizations. The "Big Diamond" newsletter. Hillsboro Lighthouse Day. Lighthouse Museum at Hillsboro Inlet Park. Educational events and presentations of lighthouse art & photos. Speakers for clubs and schools and a local school education program. Hillsboro Inlet webcam. Barefoot Mailman history.
