WHY ELECTRIC/ZERO EMISSION FLEET
Cleaner & Quieter—Good for the environment and our health.
One of the fastest ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to Climate Change
Electric buses produce zero tailpipe emissions. In comparison, a single diesel bus running 36,000 miles per year (national average) produces 201,000 pounds of CO2 per year.
Over the 12-year life of a typical transit bus, replacing one diesel transit bus with an electric bus reduces over 2.4 million lbs. of direct carbon emissions.
BCT’s goal is to have zero emission bus fleet by 2035.
