What’s Happening Now?
The County will continue to monitor the condition of the publicly accessible beaches along our coastline and will initiate projects to renourish critically eroded beaches and pursue cost-share funding for these projects from Florida's Department of Environmental Protection and the federal U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps).
The County will also continue in its role as the local sponsor for federally initiated projects by the Corps through the Flood Control and Coastal Emergencies Act to repair previously constructed beach projects after large events like Hurricane Irma.
