Adaptation Guidance for Ports (PDF) - Climate change adaptation guidelines for ports and enhancing the resilience of seaports to a changing climate, from the Australian National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility.

CanVis - Helps people visualize the impact of potential projects or events with this downloadable photo-editing software. Users can modify "before" images of familiar scenes to show how they might look "after" a specified amount of sea level rise or after a proposed building project is complete. The CanVis tool offers coastal managers the opportunity to visualize future changes related to sea level rise, storm surges, and flooding. City planners, business owners, and land managers can use CanVis to visualize possible future changes to ecosystems and the built environment, and to evaluate the visual impact of options for protecting homes, businesses, and recreational spaces.

Coastal Resilience 2.0 Tool - Coastal planning officials can use this suite of GIS-based tools to visualize flood risks from sea level rise and storm surge and identify areas and populations at risk. This link takes you to a mapping portal. Scroll down to “launch mapping”.

Economic Impacts of Climate Change on Florida (PDF) - Document focuses on the potential economic costs for the state of Florida associated with climate change projections.

Food Environment Atlas - Users can view maps and download data for a variety of food environment factors, including store/restaurant proximity, food prices, food and nutrition assistance programs, and community socioeconomic and demographic characteristics.

Google Project Sunroof - Project Sunroof puts Google's expansive data in mapping and computing resources to use, helping calculate the best solar energy plan for you.

Integrated Valuation of Environmental Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) - InVEST is a family of free and open-source tools used to map and value goods and services from nature that are essential for sustaining and fulfilling human life. InVEST enables decision makers to assess the trade-offs associated with alternative choices and identify areas where investment in natural capital can enhance human development and conservation in terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems.

National Stormwater Calculator - EPA’s National Stormwater Calculator (SWC) is a desktop application that estimates the annual amount of rainwater and frequency of runoff from a specific site anywhere in the United States (including Puerto Rico). Estimates are based on local soil conditions, land cover, and historic rainfall records. It is designed to be used by anyone interested in reducing runoff from a property. The user supplies information about the site’s land cover and selects the types of low impact development (LID) controls they would like to use.

NOAA Port Tomorrow: Resilience Planning Tool (archived site) - This tool provides the information port communities need to inject resilience measures into freight transportation planning and port infrastructure projects, measures that will make the port of tomorrow and the surrounding community stronger and more economically vibrant.

U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit - A collection of scientific tools, information, and expertise to help people manage their climate risks and opportunities, and improve their resilience to extreme events. The site is designed to serve interested citizens, communities, businesses, resource managers, planners, and policy leaders at all levels of government.

Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) - SVI employs U.S. Census Bureau variables to help users identify communities that may need support in preparing for hazards or recovering from disasters. The tool is particularly useful for emergency response planners and public health officials, as it can identify and map the communities that are most likely to need support before, during, and after a hazardous event.

Sustainable Facilities Tool - The Sustainable Facilities Tool helps users discover ways to increase the sustainability of, or "green," their projects. This easy-to-navigate tool helps users identify and prioritize cost-effective strategies they can implement across a range of operations and building projects.
